Our whole decision to start the farm hinged on the fact that Joe didn’t want to work full time away from home once we had kids and he loved working on his uncle’s farm and others growing up.

Farming is such fulfilling work for us and it’s a privilege to feed people right here in our community.

We desired to raise our family in a way that we could grow together through hard, rewarding and meaningful work.

This is why we have built our farm so that our kids, Mason & Daisy, can actively participate with us. And that was why it was important for us to raise our animals the way God intended, expressing their natural instincts 100% outside- an environment that we felt good about bringing our kids into.

We have already seen how the farm has shaped Mason & Daisy.

They are learning so much - they love nature, they respect animals (Daisy is still learning gentleness, ha!), they are witnessing how we work through struggles, they are engaging with people around them, they help with whatever their little hands are capable of and willing to do and their imaginations are thriving.

We look forward to continuing our farming journey with anticipation of all that the future holds for both our family and our community of amazing customers.

Our Values

We aim to farm in a way that ensures happy and healthy animals, ecosystems, community, and farmers.

Happy and Healthy Animals

We responsibly raise and care for all of our animals as naturally as possible which means we prioritize the health of our animals, their safety, minimizing stress, and encouraging their natural habits.

Chickens love to peck in the grass & search for bugs, cattle & sheep graze grass and pigs root.

Our animals are raised 100% outside, being moved frequently through our pastures and woods, honoring the needs of the animals & the land.

Our chickens & pigs enjoy a non-GMO feed in addition to what they can forage. Our cattle and sheep enjoy the seasonal grasses in the pasture.

Happy and Healthy Ecosystems

We strive to mimic nature and create balance in all that we do.

When we manage our animals well, it encourages healthier soil, which in turn encourages healthier grasses and forages, which in turn encourages healthier populations of insects, field mice, birds and farm animals.

And all of this plays a huge role in producing quality nutrient dense meats that nourish our bodies.

Happy and Healthy Community

We believe that the primary way we can serve our community well is to provide high quality proteins in both taste and nutrition.

Animals raised on pasture have been shown to produce meat & eggs higher in vitamins, with more balanced levels of omega fatty acids and lower in cholesterol & saturated fat, as well as a greatly reduced risk of food-borne illnesses.

Additionally, we have made the conscious choice to sell our products directly to people in our local community to encourage transparency, personal relationships, and easily receive feedback, both positive and negative. Put simply, we need to know our community to serve our community.

Finally, the hope for our farm is that it would not only be a business, but more so it would grow to be a place where friends, customers, and neighbors can enjoy themselves by hanging out, getting their hands dirty doing some chores, or sharing a meal together.

Happy and Healthy Farmers

In order to provide sustainably and responsibly raised or grown products for local communities, we have to have farmers and those farmers must be able to make a living. Farming is a necessary and honorable occupation.

We simply want to farm and provide quality, local products at appropriate prices that provide a reasonable living for our family.

We believe that if our main focus is raising our animals, improving our methods, loving our family, and serving our community that both our family and our community will come out better in the end.
